Born in Italy, Arianna has lived and worked as an architect in Paris and London before moving to Barcelona 4 years ago and founding BLOWAWISH, a ceramics craft workshop of sculpture pieces and day a day products that represent her identity and aspirations.
She started in the world of ceramics in 2005 in Paris, when she rented an apartment upstairs from a ceramics workshop and from that very moment the ceramics become her passion. She fells in love with porcelain and It becomes her expression media.
Working with ceramics is a slow and patient job. It requires time and dedication, attention to detail, observation and discovering the object created.
I believe in porcelain’s memory. Each gesture becomes trapped and I think some of myself and my work is trapped too in It. When the emotion appears in front of a piece and It can be passed down to others, It’s my main satisfaction. Pieces that will live in the homes, each one different from the other, spaces that will interact with the piece, that will evolve for the simply presence of It’s shadow. A challenge and a pleasure to be able to participate in the life of others.
Images can tell powerful tales about the past, present, or potential future, but rarely do the three meet in a single frame. Art Director Laia Blesa and photographer Salva López are masters of visual storytelling, creating work that balances nostalgia and contemporary design with a strong futuristic bent. Since founding Congo studio in 2013, the pair has created works infused with a sense of mysticism, one enhanced by stark black and white photography. Each poster is part of a limited-edition run produced by artisanal Spanish paper- and printmakers, creating a unique visual impression to enrich any living room, bedroom or workplace.
Conrad Roset spent the first part of his 29 years in Terrassa, his native city, among boxes of crayons, felt-tip pens and notebooks; the other part in Barcelona, surrounded by paints, moleskine notebooks, muses, colored pencils, and in the company of his gray cat. Drawing has been his passion and a constant feature in his life, since he played with his brother at drawing everything they liked until, years later, he draw inspiration from women to create the Muses, his most personal collection. “I search the beauty the body exudes, I like drawing the female figure.”
